ARABESQUE (ONE LEG DEADLIFT)


MUSCLES WORKED:  Glutes, hamstrings, erector spinae


GREAT FOR:  Toning bottom and thighs.  Balance, co-ordination and running patterns.


TECHNIQUE TIPS: Knee slightly bent.  Back leg straight, chest tilted forward with arms out in front.  Maintain neutral spine (don’t arch your back).  Ensure hips remain square (your outside hip – left in the photo below- will try to turn out, keep in the same height as other hip).


LEVELS:       1.   Hold


2.      Repetitions- slowly up & down


3.      Hold- with weight in each hand


4.      Repetitions- with weight in each hand


                        5.  Standing on balance disc.
